1. 개요

38회 시상식은 1966년 4월 18일 캘리포니아 산타모니카 Santa Monica Civic Auditorium에서 개최되었고 진행은 Bob Hope가 맡았다. ABC에서 이 해 최초로 칼라로 방송되었다. Doctor Zhivago와 The Sound of Music이 10개 부문 최다 후보에 올랐고, 똑 같이 5개 부문을 수상한다. Ship of Fools가 8개 부문 후보에서 2개 부문을 수상하고, Darling이 5개 후보에 올라 3개 부문을 수상한다.
