1. 개요

60회 시상식은 1988년 4월 11일 LA Shrine Auditorium에서 개최되었고 Chevy Chase가 진행했다. 미국인 4천2백만 이상이 시청했다. The Last Emperor(마지막 황제)가 9개 부문 최다 후보에 올라 9개 모두 수상하는 저력을 보였고, Moonstruck이 3개 부문을 수상한다. 윌스트리스의 마이클 더글라스가 남우주연상을 수상했고, Moonstruck의 셰어는 여우주연상을 수상했다.
