1. 개요

68회 시상식은 1996년 3월 25일 LA Dorothy Chandler Pavilion에서 개최되었고 Whoopi Goldberg(우피 골드버그)가 다시 진행했다. 멜깁슨의 Braveheart (브레이브하트)가 최다 10개후보에 올라 5개 주요 부문을 수상하고 라스베가스를 떠나며의 니콜라스 케이지가 남우주연상을 데드맨 워킹의 수잔 서랜든이 여우주연상을 유주얼 서스펙트의 케빈 스페이시가 남우조연상을 수상했다.
