1. 개요

59회 시상식은 1987년 3월 30일 LA Dorothy Chandler Pavilion에서 개최되었고 Chevy Chase, Goldie Hawn, Paul Hogan이 진행했다. Platoon(플래툰)이 8개 부문 후보에 올라 4개 부문을 수상했고, A Room with a View는 8개 부문 후보에서 3개 부문을 수상하고 우디앨런의 Hannah and Her Sisters는 7개 후보에서 3개 부문을 수상한다. 영화 에얼리언은 2개 부문을 수상한다. 그리고 주제가 상은 톰 크루즈 주연의 영화 탑건의 Take My Breath Away가 차지했다.
