1. 요약

21회 시상식은 1949년 3월 24일 할리우드 아카데미 극장 (The Academy Theater,)에서 열렸다. 원래는 전년도에 열렸던 Shrine Auditorium에서 개최할 예정이지만, 수상자 투표에 관여한다는 소문에 장소를 변경했던 것이다.
